Nothing like a 3-day weekend to make me never want to go to school again.

This weekend has been nice. I have enjoyed it so far, but unfortunately, I now realize that I have to go back to school for what seems like a pointless 2.5 more weeks. It was nice to finally have a longer than 2 day weekend that I could take mostly to myself, but then school had to rear its ugly head. On the plus side, only 2.5 weeks left of school, then I'm good to go for summer (until Alaska for the wedding at the end of June). I'll be posting a list of times I'm gone during the summer and things we should do at the end of the post. Also, no guarantees, but keep your eyes open for a tentative post coming on Wednesday.

Monday:
We had our dress rehearsal for the concert in band and the guest tuba soloist from the marine band was there. He was so good, I didn't want to play, I just wanted to listen to him. He had amazing range and he could play very complicated rhythms and all on a tuba.

Tuesday:
My witness was only asked one more question, but I still had to get sworn in and all that, so it wasted some time. After me, we kept going with our witnesses. One of them had made up a funny backstory about how his dad tied him to a post in the middle of nowhere when he was caught stealing as a kid. Also, when our side referenced the cashier, who happened to be the ex girlfriend of the witness character, our witness said "First of all, she's a bitch." Everyone broke out laughing. After school, I had the concert. We sounded pretty good. Our horn section was mission 3 people, one because of a traffic ticket preventing her from playing somehow and the other 2 for some unknown reason, so that was kind of interesting.

Wednesday:
I had no school because I had to volunteer at the food bank for my IAS class. It was actually very fun and an enriching experience and I had a great time doing it and perhaps I will come back during the summer. The guy running it was a total hardass, but one would have to be to run that kind of place. He turned out to be really cool even if it took him the first hour to stop calling me Eric. I had fun writing up the report that afternoon too. It was an informal thing, so I basically made my teacher a nice blog post. It was twice the minimum length, so that was nice too. After that, I went over to my aunt's house really quick to fill her yard waste.

Thursday:
Not much happened all day. Our trial ended and our side won on almost all the charges. After school, I just played a lot of Guild Wars.

Friday:
I spent most of the day playing Guild Wars until Sai came online and wanted to play Starcraft. We did that and we had a rather good game against a turtler involving lots of marines and tanks against my containment of a little of everything and then Sai using reavers and arbiters to completely decimate the guy's forces.

Saturday:
I had my first Saturday off in a long time. It was nice. I got to play some Guild Wars until I had to go clean my room some more. After that, I met up with Sai at his house and we finally got to go shooting. It was fun, even though I'm not a very good shot. I got to shoot a snub nose though which was cool since I have always wanted to try that. After that, my family went to see Star Trek. It was pretty good, I must say. The best part of the night though was this preview for this cool actiony movie and at the end of the preview, the theater was silent and then on the screen it flashed "G.I. Joe" and while it was still silent in the theater, my mom snorted and started laughing.

Sunday:
I had to get up early to help my aunt get stuff into the moving van to move stuff to my grandpa's house. I spent a few hours there, but then we had to go the Mariners game. It was a good game with a couple good home runs, especially the one from Griffey. After that, I came home and played Guild Wars into the night with Steven.

Today:
I finished cleaning my room today and it looks nice and clean now. The monitor is still safe, don't worry. I did some Guild Wars today as well and aside from that, not much. The truck was being borrowed by dad's friend today who had a lot of old fence and shed from his backyard that apparently took 8 dump runs. We got some stuff fixed up at grandpa's house and we brought my aunt a couple things she needed until she finally moves out.

So yeah this week, I am going to be doing some dump runs. If any of you are able to help me pick up some yard waste one of the days this week from my house and my aunt's house, that would be cool. Also, I might need some help getting a lot of dump stuff out of my aunt's house that is not yard waste later in the week. I'll keep you guys posted on that.

Anyway, now for some info.

Times I am gone this summer:
June 20- June 24: Cousin's wedding in Alaska
June 30 - July 6: Cousin's wedding reception at his house in Vegas
August 15 - August 22: Family vacation

Things we need to do this summer:
DnD
Ultimate
Star Wars Marathon
SC LAN party (no lag imp scen and inhouse)
Taco Bell
At least one big gaming party
Pokemon Marathon?
24 Marathon?
Seabrook
Road Trip?

I'm sure I and y'all will think of more as time goes by. Until maybe Wednesday, or at least until next week, peace out.

Even though I had no competition, I still was the first to make a post about Victoria.

Well I'm back from Victoria. It was fun to the extent that it could be. In the end though, I'd have certainly had more fun back in Shoreline hanging out with Orion, Steven, and Davis (and you too!(disregard the you too if your name is Orion, Steven, or Davis)). Before Victoria though, I need to get the week out of the way. Don't worry about how long this post will be. Since Victoria was overnight, I don't think it will take up as much space as it used to. Also, sorry, but I forgot my camera at home so no pictures. Perhaps next year. Oh, and shoutout to PAX-goers (especially Ahmad), we aren't doing that group thing, so buy your tickets. Also, don't wait like last year to buy your tickets because PAX is growing very quickly and they said this year they might reach their limit for ticket sales, so buy yours now.

Monday:
Band was rather boring and painful because we got a new Sousa march that he apparently made to commemorate his making so many marches. I hate that guy so much. Did he try to change it up a bit? No, he just went with the typical Sousa style: <3<3<3 to trumpets and drums and the rest of the band can suck it. After that, I came home and watched 24.

Tuesday:
We got our character roles for the mock trial for law. I got a witness unfortunately, but the attorneys were two people who seemed smart enough. It's a little unfair to them though because everyone gets the same number of points no matter what their job is, so the jury has basically nothing to do to get their points, while the attorneys have to do a lot of work to get theirs. I'm a witness, but I would have liked to get attorney. After school, I spent a lot of time "farming"(happy, Steven?) collectible items for Nicholas the Traveler in Guild Wars and made good money doing that.

Wednesday:
Steven and I finally changed our guild to Luxon. I was very happy to do this as I never really liked the Kurzicks, even before I knew who they were. Luxons are much better though, especially at alliance battles. We were even able to beat the Kurzicks on the map that is the most rigged for them.

Thursday:
We started our mock trial in law. One of the lawyers was not there and the guy that was there had been gone the day we got our stuff, so he was looking it over for the first time. I helped him out by filling in for the girl that was missing until she came in. She was right on the same page as me, which was nice. When it came time for opening statements, our guy had written up a nice speech that sounded really good. The other side didn't do so well. One guy stood up and couldn't form a word for 30 seconds until his other attorney stood up and made their case, but not without putting "um" literally between every word. After school, I was going to hang out with Steven and Orion, but unfortunately, I had homework until later hours in the day. It was helpful to have that much though because it made for good studying.

Friday:
I had nothing much going on, so I met up with Steven after school. *Edit: Orion met us at Steven's house. I forgot to mention that.* From there, we went to throw a disc around for a couple hours before coming back to Orion's to play a strange soccer/punching game. It took an hour and a half, but we finally beat that damn team love. Then, Orion drove me to SCC so I could put my instrument in the truck to send it up to Victoria. After that, we had dinner at Orion's and waited until Davis got there. When Davis got there, we went on an adventure to get settlers of Cataan and then we played it. It is very fun. Orion, it's good to have you back. It's been so long since I needed to type your name that every time I went to type it in this post, I've been hitting "Oroin." Perhaps now that you're back, I can start to get more practice typing it fast again.

Saturday:
I had to be at the clipper at 6:45am. It was not the fun, since I had gone to bed at midnight. On the ride over, Erik, Darren, Chris (lead alto in jazz band), and I played some advance wars in which Erik was on an island and Chris and I formed an alliance against Darren. When we got to Victoria, we all went to our rooms. I was with Dan. The rooms were so nice, they had an entrance hallway with a closet on one side and a bathroom on the other. If you went straight, you went into the bedroom with 2 twin beds. If you went right, you wound up in the living room with a couch, 2 chairs, and a nice deck. We also had a kitchen with a full refridgerator, a sink, a stove, an oven, and some cool pots and pans. It was a really nice room. So I split off and went with Erik and Darren. I felt some obligation to hang out with them because of the Shorewood thing, but I probalby should have just hung out with Dan and the jazz band and drummers or by myself. Anyway, we went to the mall and got a hot dog and a pop. That was the last real meal I would have in Victoria. After that, we went to the videogame store, followed by the comic shop, then the miniatures store (tabletop gaming like Warhammer and stuff). After that, we had to suit up for our concert. I brought my red dress shirt and blue suspenders, so I looked pretty awesome I must say. Our concert was on the docks, which has wind and no shade, so playing music there was hell. When we all de-suited, the three of us went to see the Shorewood people. I saw some shorewood kids, but none as awesome (well it was nice to see Bohdan) AS NATHAN!!!1111 It had been too long since we had had one of our awkward conversations, but it was good to see the guy and hear about the horn situation (it's totally screwed now). He said band wasn't the same without me (see Maddy, I always knew he liked me more!) which could have meant that he missed Maddy and I bickering on either side of him. After seeing the Shorewood kids, we went to get my Dutch chips at the secret grocery store, then we hung out with some Shorewood kids. It was Adam, Frazier, Scott, Sam, and Emily. After being in their room for some time, I started an 8-person comp free for all and I won in an hour and a half. About that time, Bohdan came into the room because the people in his were smoking and he and I left because we didn't want to hang out there any more. After that, I went back to my room. It was 11:30 and I was running on little sleep, so it was a fun, dazed walk across town (we were staying behind the Empress). When I got back to the hotel room, I didn't see Dan or anyone that was drinking there. I guess they decided not to party in our room. I got worried at first, but then I saw that Dan had come back and had one of his hard lemonades, so I knew he was alive and probably getting helza crunk somewhere. I watched mythbusters and played fire emblem on the couch and the next thing I knew, Dan was walking in the door and it was an hour and a half later (I fell asleep), so I got up and went to bed.

Sunday:
I woke up at 9 as per usual, but I stayed in bed for 2 hours to maximize rest time. Someone knocked on the door once at 9:30, then once around 10:30. I figured it was Erik and Darren because they were hanging out with people and after I left the room it seemed like they didn't think I wanted to hang out anymore, so I was free then. We had our parliament performance at 12:30 that we did well at. After that, the jazz band and drummer people went to spaghetti factory, but I left them there to go see Rachel's sister's band that was there. I stayed to watch, but she didn't tell me they went last *whomp whomp.* As I was heading back to the spaghetti factory, I saw the group walking out and I met up with them. They went to go sit at the parliament for a while, so I went my own way yet again. First, I went to my second favorite store in Victoria, Lyle's place. I got 2 good Led Zeppelin CDs for a good price, then I crossed town to go to the secret grocery store again for my Dutch chips to take home. After that, I had an hour and a half until we had to meet, so I went to the meeting spot and just waited there for people to arrive. The clipper ride back was less eventful and when I got home, I cooked myself some real food, then went to sleep.

Today:
I was put on the witness stand today and the attorneys did a good job of protecting me, so I tried my best to protect their case. The other 2 witnesses took 10 minutes each and so far, mine has taken 20 minutes. We pick it up again tomorrow. I didn't think my witness was really that important, or maybe it's just because I'm able to dance around the questions more than I know. Whatever the reason, it's going to be more fun times tomorrow. Band concert is coming up tomorrow, and not much else is happening.

So yeah this week will be much easier. I have a Mariners game on Sunday, but the rest of the weekend is wide open for me. Peace out.

Lunch

My post has nothing to do with lunch, that was just the first thing that popped into my head. Let's see, well if you're reading this blog, then congratulations on not getting bogged down with everyone (except Sai) updating last week. I don't have much to address right now, so I'll just get to the post.

Monday:
After I posted, I did some Guild Wars and got some farming done. I told Steven about my weekend encounter with the alliance battle and he got back into Guild Wars.

Tuesday:
It was rainy and I had math homework I had forgotten and I didn't feel like going to Law since all I would do was math homework anyway, so I stayed home. I got it done a lot faster than I would have in class and I got an extra hour of not having to be up and at school. It was also nice because I was at school just as long as usual because my trumpet lesson ran long when my teacher and I wound up talking for half an hour until the next girl came in and told us she was too sick to play and she was heading home. At that point, we both left because we realized we had been talking for half an hour. After that, Steven and I played a buttload of alliance battles.

Wednesday:
Steven came over and we played about 4 hours of alliance battles before Halo 3 on xbox live then him leaving. It was quite fun to get in all the gaming time and I hope we keep doing that in the future. Maybe not so much now that Orion will be back, but next year, we should do that regularly, Steven.

Thursday:
I went over to my aunt's house and we fixed up her brick walkway with my grandpa's help. He apparently laid the cement before (which explains why it was really cheap and crappy) and he helped us figure out how to level out the huge-ass dip in the walkway. I also got to meet the real estate agent. My aunt was apparently told by the stagers (people that tell you what to put in what room to help your house sell (the theory is it shows how the room can be used)) that she should take out her TVs. Ok well I can see the computer going, but why in the hell would we try to make people think they wouldn't need to watch tv? That was the one suggestion by them that was really stupid I thought.

Friday:
I had really wanted to skip because it was a nice day, but I'm glad I went to school because we had a non-rehearsal day in jazz band where we just go through old tunes for fun. It was indeed fun. After that, I tried one of my section leader's mouthpieces for fun and it doubled my comfortable range. Then Jim came over and handed me his trumpet and showed me how much my trumpet muffled my sound. I guess my trumpet and mouthpiece combination has been like holding 3 baseball bats when all along I could have been holding the one when I was at bat. Anyway, I'm now on the market for a new trumpet and mouthpiece. At the very least, a new mouthpiecce. After school, I didn't do much outside of alliance battles and farming asuran points. The asuran points took up most of my weekend because it was a bonus points weekend for stuff like that. It's basically a minute long segment of something that you do for a very long time, much like getting the Mile High Club achievement in CoD4.

Saturday:
I had to do the Earthcorps thing again. This time, it was at least really nice weather, though my nose got sunburnt. I also got to be more social this time because Justin's younger brother was there doing his honor society hours. Though I didn't talk to him that often in high school, it was at least nice for both of us to have someone to talk to. It makes the work go by faster. After that, I had to go to a funeral for my aunt's best friend's mother. My aunt's best friend is close to the family, so it's not so obscure that we went. She's like a more distant aunt almost because we see her so often. I finally got to meet her son, who it turns out actually knows Davis and knew who I was talking about before I had to mention "sideburns" or "tendinitis." His name is Jesse (Jessie?) and he's in your theory class. I asked if it was the one with the Russian lady and he said yeah. He also said you are teaching him jazz stuff. I shall talk to you about it later. Anyway, after that, I came home and did 7 hours of asuran point farming.

Sunday:
We got up early to meet my grandma in Centralia at this country cousins restaurant for Mother's Day brunch. It was nice. After that we came home and I spent the rest of the day (3pm-11pm) farming asuran points. I got very close to maxing the title.

Today:
I had class as usual today. I found out I tanked on a recent calculus test (of course, by "tanked" I absorbed all the damage and got a perfect score). After school, I got my title maxed, then got a new shield from Steven that will actually be useful to me. I have band coming up soon.

So yeah Orion comes back this week. I'm trying to get my IAS required volunteering in this week as well. Unfortunately, I have Victoria this weekend so no hanging out on my end will occur, but I am back next week and next weekend. I have Mariner's tickets for Memorial Day weekend's Sunday, but around that, I'm good to hang out. Of course, I also have random aunt and grandpa's house jobs to do now and again. Ok well I'll see y'all soon hopefully, peace out.

An even workier week

There's a little picture that just popped into my head last week. It's a car joke, so I apologize Davis as you will probably not get it. Well if I thought I was working a lot last week, I was sorely mistaken. I did much more this week. Though I was sore for the last half of the week, I must admit, it was a good workout most of the time and being outside for once did me some good. I think I'll leave this intro short and I'll get into my post.

Monday:
Band went well. I still haven't gotten to try out the 2nd horn part I made, but we will be working heavily on it today, so I'll see how it goes. One thing that DID happen though is that it was announced that Kellogg (one of the bands that will be at the 3 band concert) needed people to help them play RUSSIAN SAILOR'S DANCE. My hand shot up faster than I knew it could, so that will be sweet. After band, I watched more 24 only to become more confused at where this season is going.

Tuesday:
I had a good trumpet lesson, then I came home and played some Starcraft with Steven.

Wednesday:
I had school as usual, but then instead of gaming right away afterwards, I had to go out to lay down some sod at the pool. I was helping out the guy who was doing the landscaping (he's also a member and a neighbor). The sod laying went well, though the rolls were heavy and I only lifted and moved them and dropped them (u kraine!) for 3 straight hours. My arms were quite sore after that, but it was a very good workout. Also, myself and one of the guys that did the landscaping got into a good groove and we finished off 3 stacks of 60 rolls before the rest of everyone had finished off their own stacks. We were quite pwnage.

After that, I picked up Steven and we played some Soul Calibur 2 until dinner, then some more. I am definitely not as good as him, but I'm not really terrible. Button mashing is a legitimate strategy. I did like on the first match when he said "Let's see if you can hit me" and I proceeded to win. Voldo rules. After that, we played some Halo 3 on live and did adequate. Hopefully Steven gets a 360 someday so we can pwn up Xbox live together.

Thursday:
I went over to my aunt's house, but we couldn't get a rototiller, so I did some small tasks around the place then came home. I had about an hour before I had to leave for the concert. I was taking our vibes there and they are on very loose wheels, so I got to set up a labyrinth of bungee cords to keep it from falling (or moving even). The concert went well. We played after a middle school band and before Roosevelt. Roosevelt was very good. They got to use a jazz french horn (which I have wanted to do for quite some time). He was really good at his solos even though he sounded like a trombone.

Friday:
I had only one class because Law doesn't meet on Fridays and Jazz Band had the day off since we had our concert the day before. We had a test in Calc that I probably got raped on the first page of, but oh well. After school, I went and rototilled my aunt's yard after taking my grandpa to costco for lunch. After that, I met up with Stashley and Sai and we went to Alderwood to see Wolverine. It was quite good albeit short, and there was even a hidden nipple in it!!! I really enjoyed the "I'm the best at what I do" reference and it made me think about how it sucks that M:UA2: Fusion won't come out in time for this summer, but I'll still be getting it. After the movie, we all separated (except for Stashley who probably got closer as they neglected to get on for some Starcraft with Sai and I). Sai and I actually wound up not doing Starcraft because his CD key wasn't working.

Saturday:
I did the EarthCorps thing. It was pretty boring even if there were some really cute supervisors. I singlehandedly terraced a hillside and fell a couple of times before learing to use my pick to hold myself up on the hill. It was rainy and muddy after a while, but we did a good job there. After that, I hung out around my house for the rest of the day. I finally got to see "A Scanner Darkly" which was good, but the animation got in the way at times. It felt like watching an Ask Scwhab commercial.

Sunday:
I spent 8 hours cleaning my room. We're doing that big richmond beach yard sale (while I'm in Victoria unfortunately). Come by and buy my crap! Anyway, there were at least 2 people working in my room at all times, but it's still not done. I like what's gotten done so far though. I took down some old Star Wars posters from Episode 1 that I was tired of looking at and I replaced them with a more awesome Star Wars poster (The Empire Strikes Back poster) and a Mariners 1995 team poster. I also got to finally hang up the Dread Vale (just for you, Davis!) We haven't gotten to the side of the closet that I'm hiding the Sheer pwnage monitor in yet, but it is imminent, so prepare to say goodbye to that. Ah well.

Today:
Not much happened today. I did come up with a cool idea for a novel that I hope I someday get the time to write. If you really want to know, you can ask me about it. Anyway, not much else is going on. I'm about to play some Guild Wars with Steven. I played some alliance battles this weekend and I liked it (probably because I nuked 4 noobs by myself and harassed them for it). Anyway, that's it for now. Peace out.
