It seems I never post right before trips anymore

Well yet again I have failed to make a post when I said I would right before I go on a trip, but once again, I have an excuse for you. I was quite sick. Anyway, I guess Davis leaves today, so that sucks. Sometime, we will all need to get a big partay going and perhaps Seabrook someday or maybe Pure Pwnage if they ever update. Ah well, it was a long week so hopefully the post can remain somewhat short, but chances of that are slim.

6/25:
I did some homework before going to bed.

6/26:
Dad and I left around 8am to miss the heavy traffic. It was smooth sailing because it was a Friday. I passed an officer trying to look cool while shooting people with a radar gun. He was trying, but it just wasn't working. When we got to Selah, the rest of the crew was already there. Some extra friends of the family even came to help so we were able to move out much quicker. We had some 80's station on the whole time on the radio and if you have never done manual labor to 80's music, I would highly recommend it. I had the truck along for dump runs. We got 2 in. The Yakima transfer station is really nice. We thought we might be short on cash since our dumps here are expensive, but when we pulled up, our usual weight of about 300 pounds cost us only $7, that's 10 bucks cheaper than usual. My 2nd cousin was also excited about that. He said he texted his son about it and his son texted back saying "You know you're a redneck when you take your wife to the dump on your trip out of town." We went back with my cousin Sheri (I stayed at her house with my grandpa and my aunt last year when we went to the tri-cities for the Hanford tour) to her mother's house to say hi. It was nice to see her again, we even got to meet her partner (I don't even want to think about it (she lives in what seems to be an elderly swingers place)) who was a nice guy. We loaded up my great aunt's car up on the car trailer, which was a new experience for me, but quite fun since I didn't crash (even if I had, we had said the car was probably worth more to us wrecked than it was currently). After that, they were ready to go, but they were going to leave the next day so they wouldn't be driving late at night when they were tired. Since dad and I were not needed, we took the scenic route back to Ellensburg then off to home from there.

6/27:
Whoaa it's my birthday!!! I had a good day, being lazy until the pickup game then playing it and pwning since we had Zack on our team and then letting that break down into pretty much nothing. It was a lame turnout, but cool to play. After that, my grandpa and aunt came over for my birthday dinner and then after that, I went with Orion and Stashley to Transformers 2 which I thought was pretty good.

6/28:
I woke up with a really bad headcold and it stayed throughout the day. Unfortunately, I had homework to do and having the cold made it very hard to do the homework because I was so tired.

6/29:
I had played some Ace Combat 6, so I spent the whole night being really delusional about being in a jetplane while I was sick, which made for very not fun sleep. Same routine during the day, homework while sick.

6/30:
We got to Vegas and unpacked a bit before going into town to see a show. We went to see Penn and Teller at the Rio. It was pretty good, they were really funny. Afterwards, we discovered that the World Series of Poker was being held at that hotel (be jealous). I stuck around to watch for a while and got to watch the ESPN feature table. It was pretty cool.

7/1:
We went to the Luxor to eat at Pharaoh's Pheast a buffet that I like in the Luxor. Unfortunately, the Luxor is trying to "de-egyptify" itself (which is pretty damn hard when your hotel is a giant damn pyramid!) and they named the buffet "More." Since it was still the same thing as Pharao's Pheast, it was still good. After that, we headed out to Red Rock state park to look at red rocks (what else?). Dad and I did a lot of climbing on rocks and I did more than I should have since I was still quite sick and I got a bit dehydrated, so I stayed in the car for most of the rest of the time we were there. After that, we went over to my cousin's house to say hi before we saw him later in the week for his wedding reception. He has a nice house and it has the tallest cactus in Clark County (pretty much just Las Vegas and Henderson area, but still a cool thing). After that, we went back to the hotel for a while. We met up with them at the restaurant my cousin proposed to his wife at at the Paris hotel for dinner.

7/2:
After a breakfast in the room with the epic amount of groceries we bought, we went to Mandalay Bay to let my grandma gamble (she had been complaining that she hadn't really yet) while we went to see the shark tank, which turned out to be a really boring aquarium except for the Komodo Dragon. It was very cute in a scary and manly sort of way. After that, we went over to my cousin's house again because our hotel was siphoning off internet access from the Denny's nextdoor (I know, wtf?) and we needed his internet so mom could do homework and I could take an accounting test. I got lucky and it was a very straightforward chapter that I didn't have to bust my balls studying for. After I finished that, my cousin, dad, Kathryn, and I went to Pole Position; an indoor gokart track owned by the one and only Kurt Busch. If you don't know who that is, he was the guy that took over for Rusty Wallace. If you don't know who that is, then we, my friend, have a problem. Anyway, the karts are the very fast variety and the training video sucks because it tells you basically to brake and don't slide to the best of your ability. Well that's a lie, they really don't care. I didn't know that at the time though, so I did pretty bad. It did make for some good pictures though haha.

7/3:
This time, we went all the way out to Valley of Fire state park. It was pretty cool since we couldn't go to Zion since it was so far away. There was more good climbing to be had, but I was feeling slightly better and we had large amounts of water thanks to our grocery store trip, so it was all good. After that, we roamed the strip for a while and ate at one of our favorite places in the Paris hotel that has free baguettes for their free bread (I always get one to take back to the hotel). After that, we went to see Kathy Griffin. It was funny because she's a comedian that mainly hits off well with ladies and gays, so I only really get half her jokes usually, but she's very funny I think. Plus it was one day only, so we had to go since mom and I really like her stuff. She did a good job of explaining her tv show references for us "poor straight guys." It was a pretty good show, I was glad I went. Next time, I need to go see Rita Rudner who is my favorite female comedian.

7/4:
We went up to the north strip to go check out the Wynn and see how they added on. It looked cool as usual. After that, we planned on going up to Circus Circus to check it out, but since it was the only kid-friendly hotel in town and it was a busy tourism weekend, we quickly realized from trying to park that it was going to be rediculous and we bailed on that. We went out to the Red Rock hotel and casino for lunch which was pretty good. Later in the day, we went to the Rio where my cousin had rented the penthouse suite for the night. It was 1200 square feet, but unfortunately it was half one room and the other half was the bedroom and bathroom. It still worked out though. We got to see about 5 different hotel fireworks and we went down to check out the WSOP action as well.

7/5:
We were watching the end of Wimbledon, which was pretty exciting because it was going into extra games and I always love a dramatic finish (TWSS!!!). Anyway, my grandma complained enough that we had to leave before it was over. Luckily, they were playing for a long time, so I was fortunate enough not to miss the end of it. Dad and I were able to find a TV showing it at the place we went to and a bunch of other people showed up as well to watch. It was a great match and I'm glad Federer won, though I wish Nadal hadn't gotten pwned early on. After that, we actually did go up to Circus Circus since it was less crowded with everyone fleeing the town. It was a pretty boring place once you realize the same game (that horse racing where you throw a ball at a hole to make it go faster) is repeated about 5 times in the circle. I did find an arcade with a retro Simpson's game in it that I got a high score on. I played it again and tried to beat my score; but didn't but I still got a high score, so I have 2 out of the 10 high scores on that machine. That night, we went to see Jersey Boys, which is a musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It was pretty good.

7/6:
We relaxed until around 11am when we went for the opening of Pole position because we had to go again. I did much better that time and even got the 2nd best time for the week. My cousin, who beat me, got the best time for the week. Granted, it was early in the week, but it's still cool. My cousin's friend came along and he was also confused by the training video and got some bad times. I think they need to fix the training video. After that, we dropped my grandma off at the airport and stayed at the hotel until our flight left. The flight sucked because this stupid family in front of us had to have their seats all the way back and the kid in front of me was old enough to know to sit still, but he didn't. I was loud with my complaints about them later in the flight and as we were getting off, but they were to ignorant to notice I was talking about them. They were in their own world. Karma got them though and they didn't get on the shuttle back to the main terminal and had to wait for the next one. I enjoyed that.

Today:
I did some homework, then just messed around a bit on the computer before the frisbee game. It sucked, only 7 people showed up and we had to recruit Emma and Noel (who aren't bad players as it turns out) to play with us. It was nice to have a quick breather after we started getting that lineup going. It was still disappointing though to realize that not everyone is serious about making this a good team.

So yeah I don't know what I'm going to do for the next couple of weeks. Davis is gone, Orion soon will be too. I guess I'll go back to school and working at my grandpa's house. Hopefully I get over this cold soon. It's down to a cough and runny nose, so probably still contagious, but not too bad. I hope my coughing on the stupid family on the plane in front of me infected them. They deserve it, leaning the seat back on me really hurts my knees. Ok well I'll get into picture posting tomorrow, peace out.
