Teh Vacationxorz and Starcraft Twooooooo

Well I am back from vacation now. I actually got back on Friday and since then, I have been enjoying Starcraft 2 the whole time. I'm only really making this post right now because Davis is over playing it and I figured I would use this time to be productive now that he seems to more or less understand how to play. Hopefully you readers were not too sad after my dryest month of posting ever (only one post in one month), I plan to have more than that this month and next month. I will be posting pictures of my trip here on the blog for you to comment on. I will also post more to facebook after the summer is over because I find that to be a slightly more secure place to have pictures of my family on since I can have really strict security settings on facebook. Anyway, check back in the next few days for some pics and then leave some comments. I think this post will be interesting to you because I spent time on vacation thinking about the things I would write about and as a bonus, I will only mention Grandpa once! (well, once besides that right there). And now to the vacation.

Part 1: New Orleans:
We had a 6am flight out of Sea-Tac and got into New Orleans after a layover in Dallas/Fort Worth at about noonish. We noticed immediately how hot it was there. Unfortunately, it's the super humid kind of hot where you can't escape it. For dinner that night, we went to go see some live music. We were staying in a hotel on one side of the French Quarter and the place we went was on the opposite end. It was a good place, but to get into the actual room where the music was being played, there was an unecessarily large cover to get in. We were able to hear them fine though from the eating room, so that worked out. After we had heard enough and felt awkward for taking up a table for so long, we went back home. On the way back, we stopped by a place where "Washboard Chaz" was playing. It was a guy on washboard (named Chaz presumably) along with a good harmonica player and an adequate guitar player. I never though I would say this, but that guy on the washboard could really shred. It was pretty great and we stuck around for a while because he was so cool. The harmonica guy also was playing really well.

The next day, we got up and went to Cafe Du Monde, which is a cafe in the French Quarter that you pretty much have to go to if you are in New Orleans. After that, we checked around the outdoor marketplace and saw some crafts and things before going back to the hotel to escape the crazy (about 115 with humidity) heat. That night, we went to another restaurant right off Bourbon Street and got to see a lot of drunk people on the way back to the hotel.

On Monday, we got up and went on our tour of some plantations out in the bayou. The first one we toured was an old creole mansion, so we got to learn about creole history. The second one we toured was an american one, so we got the american perspective on plantations too. It was pretty cool to compare the two, but I definitely preferred the american one because they had some super cute tourguides. On our way back into New Orleans, we stopped at the capitol at Baton Rouge and then drove back to New Orleans via the lake pontchartrain bridge. That night, we went and saw the Preservation Hall Jazz Band play. They were really good and apparently that's another one of those things that people always recommend when you want to go see good music.

Part 2: Road to Tampa + Keir(!!!!!!!!!!)
On Tuesday, it was the release day for Starcraft 2. We had other plans though as we had to make our way from New Orleans to Gainesville in one day. Our first stop was in Mississippi where we got some pictures of entering it. After that, we stopped at a tourist center in Alabama for the same purpose. One odd thing about the South is that they seem to have a Waffle House at every exit. As we drove by them mile after mile, we couldn't help but wonder if they were as skanky inside as they loked outside. More on that later though. We finally arrived in Gainesville that night and after a little bit, I met up with Keir (ohhhhh so essiting!!!!11). We hung out at his place mostly working on the rap and talking about Starcraft 2 until late at night.

The next day, Keir picked me up on his way to school and we toured around the campus for a bit. He had a class to go to, so I used his laptop to make some pictures for his rap while he was in class (I will post the pictures I made along with my vacation pictures). After that, we went back to his place to record the rap, but I was only able to record my part before I had to get back on the road since we had to make it to Tampa by dinner that day.

We arrived in Tampa and met up with our relatives that we would be spending most of the remaining time with. We were seeing mom's two cousins, one's husband, and their 4 kids. One of them is my age, but she is kind of snobby at times and she doesn't like to interact with myself or the younger kids. The other 3 are triplets that are about 8 months younger than Kathryn. It is two girls and a boy. I like hanging out with the two girls because they remind me of Stashley. One acts a lot like Steven and the other acts a lot like Ashley. Their brother is a handful, but he is cool too. That night, we all had a good barbecue dinner at their place. Kathryn decided to sleep at their place.

Part 3: Tampa:
The quote of the night came as my parents and I tried to find our way back to the hotel in the dark from my mom's cousin's house.
Mom: I'm pretty sure we turn right up here.
Me: No, it's definitely left. Dad and I agree.
Mom: Okay, well when can I say I told you so?
Dad: Maybe another day when you're actually right!
She was wrong after all, but the next morning we did make a right turn as we went back out so she got to be technically right at that point. That day, we were going to the Rays game to see how real baseball teams play baseball. I must say, it was much more exciting than a Mariners game because both teams had skilled players. It was actually really depressing to realize how terrible our team is back here. That night after the game, we had dinner back at their place again. The boy triplet was learning a song on piano and needed some help putting what he was doing onto sheet music (since he was learning by ear), so I helped him with that.

The next day, we all went to the beach. Mom was dead set on going and since we went to a Rays game, she made sure that we went to the beach the following day. It was a pretty fun day or just messing around on the beach. Mom and Dad and Kathryn all insisted that I would burn, but I was the one that did not and the rest of them got epically burnt (and I do mean epically burnt). My cousin enjoyed making a point of pointing out the hot girls on the beach to me as if I could not see them walking right by me. Now I had my aviators on and I know how to politely look at hot girls going by on the beach (look, don't linger); but my cousin did not. He would point at them, turn his head around as they passed, and generally make it very obvious that he was checking them out. All it did was creep a lot of girls out. At one point, I was getting annoyed of hearing "Oh check that hot girl out over there" again for the thousandth time, so I said "Will, what if I told you I was gay? Would you still point out hot girls to me?" All the adults found that to be very funny for some reason. Unfortunately, he said he would probably still point out hot girls, so I just endured for the rest of the day. That night, we all went to a benihana-esque place for dinner. The chef at our table was a white guy who dubbed himself the "Asian Cowboy." He was pretty entertaining with his asian accent that he put on while cooking. After that, the four of us had to get over to Orlando to check into our hotel.

Part 4: Disneyworld:
We spent most of Saturday the 31st on our own at Hollywood Studios, one of the four dry Disney parks. It quickly became our favorite because of the rides and the low wait times on them compared to the other parks. Of course, it also helped that the park was the location for Star Tours at Disneyworld. The others got there later in the day and we spent the rest of the day in the park with them. At the park, they had an American Idol experience there at which people at the park could try out and perform. Each night, they have the top 7 perform and the audience votes for a winner. That winner gets a ticket to go to the front of the line at any Idol audition nationwide. We went to a final and this one kid that was 16 was actually pretty awesome. He didn't win, but the lady that did was too old to try out so she gave him her ticket. My cousin promptly obsessed over him because he was so super cute. More on that later.

The next day, we went to Animal Kingdom which is a pretty suck park. It's like a park where you go to get lectured on how you're destroying the environment by a company that DOES NIGHTLY FIREWORKS DISPLAYS LASTING 20 MINUTES IN 4 LOCATIONS WORLDWIDE. Also, there are a lot of tall trees and thick plants that trap the heat in the park so it gets insanely hot during the day because no breezes blow through and there are significanly fewer places with air conditioning in that park than in the other ones. After deciding we didn't want to linger there long, we decided to head over to Epcot to check it out. I liked Epcot a lot, it was pretty neat having all the little sections for different countries (that I'm sure paid a lot to be in a Disney park). There was a perfume shop in the French area and my mom's cousin's sister (the one not married) was trying on a bunch of the perfumes. At one point, she was offered one and said "I shouldn't try on too many of these or I'll smell like a French whore" which is a pretty old saying. As she said that, two older ladies turned their heads around super fast and insisted on getting a picture with her. I'm not sure if it was because they thought she was a park employee dressed as a French whore or if they were just that surprised to hear that phrase, but it was pretty funny. Also in Epcot, I ran into a guy who was wearing a nametag that said Odrik. Was I surprised? Yes, for I had not seen a more interesting thing before.

On Monday, we went to Universal Studios, not affiliated with Disney. The rides there are a lot bigger and cooler in my opinion. On a lot of the rides, there were warnings posted like "don't go on this ride if blah blah blah..." We saw a new one, warning that if we wore a prosthetic leg, we needed to remove it as it could fall off during the ride. How embarassing would that be to have to do that when you go get on a ride? Even worse, how embarassing would it be if you forgot and it came off during the ride and was lost? We got to visit the new Harry Potter land that they added. It was pretty cool and if you like Harry Potter, I think you would like it. If you don't, then I have no idea how you would feel about it. That night, we were walking around on a boardwalk and as you might expect, there were some games. My cousin who is like Steven was trying to win a soccer jersey from one game, but she needed more people to be in the game. It turned out to be a water shooting at a target game which I am excellent at, so I helped her get her jersey from that. After that, I made her night even better by noticing and pointing out the boy that won the American Idol thing a couple days before. We shouted over to him from our group (he was with his parents) and told him we thought he was really good. His mom was really excited that we remembered him and she informed us of the ticket switching thing that the lady did with him which was really nice. He was kind of shy about it, but I could tell we probably made him happy by telling him we thought he was good at singing.

On Tuesday, my mom's cousin had to get back to work, as did my mom's other cousin's husband. Those of us remaining went to the Waffle House. We pulled up to it and it was next to this giant orange orange shaped building. We called them to make sure it was next to an orange building. They said they couldn't remember, but they thought it was next to an Ihop. What? How could you miss this building? I'll post a picture of it so you see how ridiculous it was to miss this building. When they pulled up, they realized that they should have noticed it. After that, we went to the main park, Magic Kingdom. It's like Disneyland in California, but I like the California one a lot better. It's simpler and the layout is a lot better (and I'm used to it). We saw Chase (the American Idol kid) once again that night. This time, my cousin asked if she could facebook friend him. Oddly, his mom said yes instead of him and she even told her how to find him. She has since gotten his cell phone number. Maybe if she ever finds herself in Utah, she can meet up with him.

On Wednesday, it was back to just the four of us. We spent the day cleaning up doing rides that we had missed at the three parks besides Hollywood Studios.

On Thursday, we went to Kennedy Space Center. It was something mom and I wanted to do (it's rare for the two of us to want something when dad and Kathryn do not). It was pretty awesome, though I would have liked more focus on space itself. I understand how they were mostly dedicated to getting into space, but I got bored of just that after a while and I wanted knowledge about outer space and other galaxies and stuff like that.

On Friday, we spent the day at Hollywood Studios, riding our favorite rides and whatnot. I rode Star Tours several times in what would be my last times riding that ride. I'm sad to see it go, but I'm going to see if Disney will let me buy a seat from the ride if they're just planning on tearing them out when they redo the ride. They were pretty cool seats. We had a nonstop flight, but those are generally a risk because you're stuck on a plane that long with the same people, good or bad. This time, it was bad. In the back half of the plane, one person had his seat reclined. He was in front of me. I'm fine with that and all because it seems to always happen to me, but not only did the guy lean forward most of the time to sleep (so not even using that space he stole from me), but he also tried to put stuff under his seat, which is where my feet go. He ran out of room in the space under the seat in front of him which is where you put stuff on a plane. Eventually, I just told him to move his shit because I was sick of him deliberately shoving things under my feet. Also, after 3 hours of flight (on a 6 hour flight), the kid behind me showed off how loud and annoying he could be and for the last half of the flight, nobody got any sleep in our half of the plane. The parents were equally loud and I was surprised nobody went back there to shut that kid up because there were a lot of annoyed faces about the plane.

After we got back, I got a text from Steven about the proleague finals. I was tired, but still decided to go check it out since I could also see SC2, which I had to wait another day for. Long story short, it wound up with both of us falling asleep before the finals were over, but KT won as we expected after the results of the first two matches were in, so that was cool.

On Saturday, I got my copy of SC2 after dropping Grandpa off at his place after taking him to lunch. I've been playing it since then and not doing much else.

So I'll post some pictures this weekend. After that, I'll post right before PAX, so sometime in early September. Until next time, peace out.

Only one update for this month

Sorry to anyone that is ripping their hair out at how infrequently I have updated over the last couple of months (I'm sure there must be one of you). I know I usually post on Mondays, but I leave tomorrow for a couple weeks, so I'm mixing it up a bit. I'm going to mix up my post a bit too. I'll just go about describing things in my daily schedule rather than going day by day so as to hopefully avoid having about half the days consist of "I played some Red Dead Redemption, then went to Costco with Grandpa." I'll also add in a few random events at the end of the post as a special treat for you, enjoy.

Mondays:
I would usually spend the day relaxing unless I had a job to do or unless Grandpa called up and wanted to go to Costco that day. At night, dad and I would go to Klahaya for the adult tennis freeplay.

Jobs:
This summer, I am once again doing my usual workload of a lot of random things. I don't get a lot of jobs that last more than a day, but that works for me because I like going from one thing to the next. So far, I have been an unlicensed contractor, gardener, landscaper, private instructor, mover, garbageman, and a few other things I didn't feel like mentioning such as elderly care because I haven't been getting paid for that unless you count getting paid in food at Costco. I've also got a bunch of projects lined up for me in August, so that will be cool too to earn some money without having to go job hunting. If you read closely, you noticed that private instructor was one of my jobs listed. I've been giving one of Kathryn's friends private lessons on french horn. I guess the horn situation at Shorewood is terrible (there's one other kid that plays and he's awful), so this girl decided to switch from flute to horn. Oddly enough, I'm kind of doing the opposite thing currently, but I'm not actually going to mainly play flute. I'm just learning how to play. She's actually getting pretty good, so that is a good confidence builder for me since I was kind of concerned about whether I was good enough to teach her going into this.

Adventures with Grandpa:
I know, I know; you're all tired of hearing about these, but allow me this one section to talk about it. I'll keep it brief. We saw a tranny the other week at Costco. The odd thing about it was that she(/he?) was not the first tranny I've seen at Costco. Mostly on our adventures, we've kept out of trouble, so not much else to report...yet.

Relaxing Time:
What I mean when I say that is that I have been playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption. It had a really fun single player experience, but after the campaign ends, it seems like you run out of stuff to do rather quickly. That ends though when you fire up the multiplayer. I've had some pretty fun times on the multiplayer, having 2 new great xbox live experiences that I would say make number 2 and 3 of my favorite live sessions. The best one was back on original xbox on Jedi Knight 2 multiplayer. One day, I got on when I got up in the morning and the four of us got along so well, we wound up playing for 6 hours straight. It was pretty great and I got a lot of achievements with them. My number 3 favorite time on live was last night. I was playing late at night and I wound up in this group of three other guys and we were all just cracking jokes the whole time we played and doing funny stuff. It was pretty great. We picked on one guy a bit in a friendly way, but I guess he was born with no sense of humor and he quit. We all felt kind of bad after that. The two guys left were actually a lot like Sai and Keir (and the one guy sounded like Keir) and we wound up playing for a couple more hours before splitting up.

Adult Tennis:
Since I can't do lessons anymore (since I'm over 18), this has been a fun way to keep playing tennis. It's also supervised by my favorite coach ever, David (a fellow lefty). He got me into tennis when I was a kid and this is his last summer coming up to Seattle (he and his family live in Arizona and have been coming up every summer to teach lessons for about 20 years now) so I really wanted to get in some good tennis this summer. We played some doubles together for old times sake and totally pwned. I've had some funny encounters there with the other people playing. Bare with me here, this may seem random at first, but keep going. One day, Grandpa and I found ourselves in Sam's Club. We were both wearing blue, which is what the employees there wear. This random lady came up to us and looked at us for a second before saying "Oh sorry, I thought you were employees." That night at tennis, this one lady brought a friend of hers and the first thing that lady said to me was "Were you at Sam's Club today?" I guess it was that lady. That was pretty coincidental. On the first monday I went to these sessions, I ran into the guy that I kept having my business classes with at SCC. I had no idea he was a member at Klahaya, so it was really weird to see him there. What's more, I found out he is also transferring to Seattle U this fall and he's doing a minor in Econ, so knowing our luck, we will have more classes together. He is the guy that is uber pro at accounting in case you were confused.

Tuesdays:
On Tuesdays, I would go to Costco with Grandpa if I had not done so the day before. If I had, I would generally find myself doing some sort of odd job on this day.

Wednesdays:
I would usually meet up with the guys from jazz band to play earlier on in the day. After that, I would go to frisbee.

Getting together for playing:
I've hung out with the guys a little bit this summer, but not too much since we all have conflicting schedules on other days. We all agreed to keep Wednesdays open though, so it's good to occasionally have a day when we can get together and keep in practice. I've seen Steve a bunch though through Warhammer, so doing this is mostly about getting to see the other two guys.

Frisbee:
It has been fun to go play some casual pickup games at night. It's never too hot and the people there are really friendly and easy to play with. There are two fields, the kiddie field (not necessarily kiddies on it, but they are pretty newb) and the (somewhat) pr0 field. Eric and Steven and I usually play on the pro side, which has been cool. On Eric's birthday, Steven was not there so we decied to play on the kiddie field. We were superstarts, I was throwing crappy pulls and being praised. On one point, Eric was going 1 on 4 and got 5 D's in one point. Nobody on the teams ran at all and we would always have about 3 of our guys on one end of the field at all times. Eric was all over the place, and I tried to stick fairly close to the action, trying to do the most good for the least effort. After frisbee, sometimes we go play ping pong at Steven's house. I learned how terrible I am and how great Steven and Eric are.

Thursdays:
Usually I have this day off because around noon, I start hopping on the computer and thinking of things to teach in the lessons while messing around on the computer. I give my private lessons in the afternoon.

Fridays:
This is another day that is generally good for jobs, but we have also been playing DnD on these days in the evening.

DnD:
It has been going good. I was getting into the alchemist character and the ability to use bombs. Unfortunately, I was mostly responsible for a near wipe this last session, but I survived with Lucy and we got back to town safely. I feel pretty bad though about the other two losing their characters. On the other hand, I'm happy that for once, it wasn't me dying. If you want the detailed updates of what is going on in DnD, check the link to the right that says DnD campaign page or something along those lines.

Saturdays:
In the afternoon, I would go play Warhammer over in Woodinville at a games shop there. We chose that place because it is more or less in the middle of where we all live.

Warhammer:
It has been getting progressively more fun as we go along in the campaign. We're moving up to 500 points when I get back, which will mean we use units. Currently, we play 200 point "kill teams" where each individual model is a unit and moves individually. At 500 points and up, units are made up of multiple troops and move together. It's getting pretty fun even if my record is only 1-3.

Sundays:
I have the day off. I generally don't have anything major come up these days.

Now for some random happenings!

Computer:
Recently, I installed a 2nd CD drive and a Hard Drive and Windows 7 with Orion's help. I made a dumb mistake on the CD drive, but I was able to get it as well as the hard drive without too much help. Orion did help a lot with setting the master and the slave on the drives and getting me informed on Windows 7. Thanks to Orion for doing that. I like Windows 7, it's like Vista but not glitchy as hell.

Doctor:
I finally broke my streak of not going to the doctor's office recently. I had to go in on Wednesday for shots that are required for Seattle U. When I got there, I learned that I had not been there since January of 2007. You might remember the quotes I posted where I tried to convince Steven and Orion that I was not sick and instead skipped school to go pick up Windows Vista. When I was at the doctor, I had to fill out that form that shows me how boring my life is. I just check no for every box. Then I get in there and the nurse who looks like an intern my age asks me all the questions including "are you sexually active." I considered saying something witty to that, but nothing came to mind quickly enough. Also at the office, I got weighed in for the first time in about 6 months. I found out I now weigh only 187 pounds. I can't wait to be at Seattle U so I can use their gym to bulk up and gain back that weight. I don't like knowing that I weigh less than 200 pounds.

Ok well that's long enough for a post I guess. I leave tomorrow for a flight at 6am. We get back on the 6th of August and I hope to see y'all after I get back. To would be burglars, my cousin is living at our house while we're gone, so don't get any funny ideas [shifty eyes]. We leave on the 24th and Starcraft 2 comes out on the 27th, waiting until August 7th to get it is going to be absolute hell, but I guess I'll have to manage. It might make it better that I will be hanging out with Keir on the day of the release and the day after. That will be pretty awesome actually. So until August 7th probably, peace out.

Goodbye my teenage years

I can't really say I'm sad to see them go. Actually, I really felt indifferent on becoming a 20 year old (surprise, surprise huh?). One cool thing though is that for this year, I can have a new nickname, D-20 (I'm just going to try to put in as many bad jokes as I can into posts from now on). Ok well now that I am back from Sunriver, I have a lot of open space ahead of me. Some odd jobs are coming my way, I haven't heard any plans for warhammer yet (which is nice because I don't know how badly/often I want to be playing that), I'm ready to hang out with people, and my days are becoming more organized. Before I go through the week, I'll get some stuff out of the way. The week will mostly be about family stuff, but it might be somewhat entertaining to you. I am putting that as the last part of the post though so you don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom to read the parts that are relevant to you.

Summer Plans:
I have Wednesdays pretty much permanently reserved for hanging out with the guys from jazz band because we want to keep practiced up on trumpets and stuff. On Wednesday nights, I'll be doing some ultimate playing with Steven and Eric and any others that want to join. Also, I need to have lunch with Grandpa at least once a week so I can get groceries with him and whatnot. Also, that is something I want to do. Aside from that, I might be out once or twice a week (though I hope not more) for warhammer. I will generally be able to schedule my odd jobs around the availabilities of people I am planning to hang out with. As for odd jobs, congrats to me, I have found some! Well, mostly just one for now. I have a lot of house improvement lined up for me such as replacing our front door, resurfacing the deck, painting, general cleaning, and possibly felling a tree. That will not be for pay though, it will be my way of paying back my parents for paying for college and stuff. A job I will get paid for is giving private lessons. I guess one of my sister's friends is switching from flute to french horn and wants me to give her some private lessons since she has not played a brass instrument before. Now I can almost see two of you (Davis and Maddy if she reads this) questioning my ability to teach on french horn. Don't worry, I already thought about that myself. I eventually decided that I have a decent resume for a french horn player my age including that honor band, first chair in band (the people in my section were all really good players, despite what it may have sounded like), playing in jazz band. Besides, I think I'm good enough to know how to teach a total beginner and I will be charging a laughably small rate anyway. So yeah, that's my first outside the house odd job that came my way. It will be fun and hopefully more show up for me soon.

Now for my week

Tuesday:
We spent the day in the car from about 9am-5pm. We had a lunch break, but that was really it. We just hung out at the house the rest of the day once we got to Sunriver. My uncle and aunt showed up a few hours after we did.

Wednesday:
My uncle decided he would do a half marathon for his warmup run. He was very tired after that. I forgot to mention earlier that he was planning on running the marathon that Friday in Sunriver. He's a big bigger than me, but he had been training. I would need to do a lot of training because I suck at running and I would have to get my knees to a point where I could run on them. Since it was just the 5 of us again that day, nothing much happened. Kathryn, mom, and I did some biking, but not much else. We all hit up Costco for groceries.

Thursday:
My aunt and uncle went for a walk somewhere, so I went on my own walk somewhere else after I got up. I walked 4 miles in an hour, which was very comfortable. I got back shortly after my aunt and uncle and mom and Kathryn got back from their bike ride a little bit after I got back. That afternoon, my cousin and her husband came in (the ones that just got married a few weeks ago). We discovered that my uncle and 2 of his most annoying kids as well as grandma were staying nearby. Due to family drama, we thought they weren't coming at all. My cousin and Kathryn and I went on a search to see if it was really them and it turned out it was. It was kind of awkward because we knew they were pretty pissed at us about the housing situation (leaving them out (there wasn't enough room, we would have been over capacity by 3 people)). Anyway, shortly after they got there, a few of us had to go pick up dad from the airport since he was flying in that day to miss only one day of work for the week.

Friday:
My other cousin and his wife came in early in the morning. Before they got back though, I went on an 8 mile round trip bike ride with Kathryn, Dad, and my cousin. Once everyone was there, we all hung out and didn't get much done because we were all content to sit around and relax.

Saturday:
My uncle and cousin were running the marathon, so we took them there early in the morning, then stood along the route and held signs and cheered as they passed. We got bored after they went by, so we decided to drive along the path and try to stalk them. My cousin did the marathon in about 4.5 hours and my uncle did it in 6.5. It was pretty cool. I'm thinking in 2 years, I'll try running it too. I need to start running more often than I currently do though. After that marathon, they were pretty tired, so we let them rest. My cousin and I went to Bend to get a game for everyone to play. It was this game she has at her house that is like apples to apples, but you write whatever you want instead of playing from a card in your hand, so it is infinitely more fun. I didn't mind that I didn't win because I was able to write down funny things and as long as I was getting some laughs, it made up for how horrible I was at guessing what people said what.

Sunday:
It was my birthday, but we had to get back home, so we watched both soccer games (which were both poorly reffed) before spending the rest of the day in the car. For my birthday, I got a hard drive and a couple CDs, which is great. I will soon be putting in that hard drive and getting some Windows 7 going.

Today:
I'm enjoying a day off. I haven't really had a day at home to myself yet since break started, so this is nice. I am feeling guilty though since I'm used to doing stuff every day. Like I said earlier in the post, I'm good to hang out most of the time. Until I hopefully see you in person, peace out.

Two thousandth post? What?

Well who knew. I guess this is my blog's 2,000th post. I didn't even notice I was getting close until just now I was going to make the post and it said 1,999 posts. That's pretty cool I guess. Well it's been almost two weeks since summer began and I last posted. I have really filled that time with a lot of stuff. Hopefully the post will not be long as I think it is going to be. While I won't post day by day, know that I did one of these things (if not more than one) each day since the last post. I apologize in advance for how simply worded this post is, I'm making it in a bit of a hurry.

Warhammer:
So I've gotten a bit further into warhammer 40k now. I have an army and it is all painted up and ready for the tournament this summer. I don't think any of you are particularly interested in hearing about it, but I will say that you should not worry, I am not becoming THAT nerdy, I still will choose DnD and videogames over warhammer.

DnD:
Lucy played with us in our first session and it went really well. She plays a little like Sai and Steven and I which is pretty entertaining. Another cool thing she did was get us twice the money we were originally promised from doing a quest. Aside from that, our new characters are pretty entertaining. I am a neurotic alchemist and in the two sessions we have had so far, I have been to jail twice. I enjoy the use of bombs and I bust them out rather frequently. It is not all great though as I almost killed Steven and I the other day by having a bad bomb throw. Fortunately we both have high HP, so we survived an explosion that fell right at our feet.

Family:
Grandpa and I went to Costco a couple times and then we began work on cleaning out the shed yet again. We never really did complete it last summer and my aunt really wants all the crap gone. I must say, he's doing really well with throwing things away. Since I have a very similar personality to him, I know how attached he can get to the crap in the shed, even the stuff he hasn't seen in about 15 years. I spent a couple afternoons on that shed and recently did a small dump load of 300 pounds. We also had a party for my aunt last weekend. We got to see my cousins' house again and it is really coming along. They got it for cheap, but they had to make a ton of repairs and they're still working on it.

Videogames:
I finished the Saboteur which was too bad, I really liked that game. Recently, on the PC, Steven showed me the Typing of the Dead. It's a really silly game, but at the same time, it's pretty entertaining. I spent a lot of time playing it. I think we should cosplay for it at pax. Speaking of cosplay...

Star Wars Concert:
So Davis and I went to Star Wars in Concert in Spokane this past Saturday. Not only did we do that, we wore HOMEMADE JEDI ROBES!!!11 to the concert. I guess Davis thought more people would dress up, but I was pretty sure not a lot would. Not a lot of people that were not children dressed up. The fact that we were probably the oldest guys dressed up in the area was quite nerdy and quite awesome. Pics are below by the way, I think I forgot to mention that earlier.

College stuff:
I got my grades back from SCC, I graduated with over a 3.5GPA! That means my GPA has improved by .5 since high school. I was pretty happy even though I know I probably could have done better. Either way, I now will get good money off for Seattle U. The extra couple thousand dollars over the UW tuition will be worth it for the guarantee that I will get in the classes I need to graduate in 2 years. I really needed that since I am doing law school for 3 years after my BA degree is finished. Also, at Seattle U, they don't let class sizes go over 40 students (except maybe band classes), so that will be super awesome. I went and met with a counselor last week because i had to. The Administrative desk girl was about my age and she was pretty cute and shy as was I since she was cute. My parents later told me she was blushing and they think she liked me (yeah Davis, my parents really seem to want me to hook up with some chick). Anyway, the counselor I went to see was really cool. She had about 15 opened 12packs of beer in her office left over from a senior party. She was pretty hip and not all uptight like I thought she would be (since it is a jesuit school after all). I think I'm really going to like it at Seattle U and I might even stay there for law school unless Keir and I both get into the UW. In that case, I would probably go there.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some things here, but that's fine. This post is getting pretty long anyway. I need to start taking notes between posts so I don't forget so many things. At any rate, I'll be gone this week and I will get back late at night on my birthday (I expect so many facebook wishes! (nawt!)). We'll have to do something after I get back. If not for me, at least for Davis' big 21st. Perhaps a possible LAN party again soon?

Ok well I'll let you get back to whatever you were planning on doing, peace out.
