The superintendent, Dr. James Welsh, no longer is employed in the shoreline school district. Likely due to the FINANCIAL PROBLEMS (OVER 2 MILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT).We are going live with our correspondent at the Shoreline Center as this story develops.

Board places superintendent on administrative leave


Following an executive session on April 3, 2006, the Shoreline Public Schools Board of Directors announced that James M. Welsh, superintendent, has been relieved of his job responsibilities and placed on administrative leave with pay, effective immediately. The Board also appointed Linda Johnson, associate superintendent, to serve as acting superintendent until further notice.

The Board anticipates conducting a further review of Dr. Welsh’s employment status with the District in the immediate future, according to Mike Jacobs, Board president.
