I can has hub status?

Howdy all, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving Break. I'll get to mine eventually, but first I have some stuff to talk about in my intro (for once). I learned that my blog is not being used as hub status! This is surely a travesty as I would not want people to not think I updated since they are using a less frequently updated (but still interesting) blog. I guess there's not much I can do to get people to change to mine since we agreed not to run ads on our blog (which was my only real option). I guess to appeal to the female audience, I could say something nice about women like....um....that dress does make your butt look big, which is pretty awesome if you ask me. I mean, we all gotta like the butts we have, it's not like we were all born with a detachable ass... Anyway, if you don't use my blog as a hub, that's fine. If you do read my blog though, feel free to comment. It's not that I get tired of seeing the same 3 commenters all the time (I'm just happy to see comments), but I'm sure the girls can come up with witty things to say to my posts.

In other news, No-Shave November ends today. This was my first time fully participating since the days before I shaved. I decided that for some reason, this would be my last one because by this time next year, I would have a girlfriend telling me not to do it or at least maybe I will have had a girlfriend. Another few of reasons why I probably won't do it again are:
1. My facial hair grows too slowly
2. Apparently the only facial hair I can grow fairly quickly is a neckbeard. If you don't know what that is, just don't go google it. If you do know, take comfort in the fact that it shall soon be gone.
3. When you have facial hair year round, spending a month not trimming it and making it look good is just not very fun.

Ok well that was a pretty lengthy intro, so how about I get into the week now? It could get long, but hopefully I'll be able to keep it to a reasonable length for you.

Monday:
Well in band, only 4 people turned in their forms for the trip. After 2 hours of playing, we got to the song that our secondary conductor lead on, so Ken decided to do spontaneous tryouts for his list for that trip. Now this was horrible for me because I had been playing 1st horn parts for 2 straight hours and before that, I had come home that day and played jazz music until I had no chops in an attempt to build them up. All in all, it was not a good idea. As he pulled me out of the class, he had me pick a song. I frantically looked through our folders, but it was no use. The song that I could handle at this point was the one we were playing. He told me to just take Water Music Suite, which involves a lot of high/above staff notes. Of course, I sounded terrible in his office, but we'll see what happens. I'm competing against the girl that stands next to me in jazz band who only shows up for concerts or this turning in her form (she has another band she's in as well), the girl that shows up every day but takes a ton of bathroom breaks and texts in class, and Erik. While there is no guarantee that even the first person on Ken's list would make it into this band, I would still really feel better to be first, so hopefully I'll get to go, but it's currently up in the air until whenever the people have made their decision.

Tuesday:
I skipped psych again because I didn't want to go and then in French, we finally learned more about our projects (that we had previously only heard about once). We learned they were due the next week. Now my group had no idea what to do, so we kind of decided to do a powerpoint, but it was a fail idea because all three of us were not there on the same day that whole week so we'll see what happens. I wish we had gotten more notice on this project, especially since it's a 5 minute presentation done in only French (how in the hell do I know 5 minutes of French after 1 quarter? I can do some descriptions, but if it comes down to it, I'll wind up having to count the passing seconds in French I suppose).

After jazz band, we left for Vancouver. Kathryn really wanted to drive part of the way, so I decided since I drive to Vancouver every other time and since we would be pressed for time on the way back, she could drive to grandma's house. I was carsick the first half because she was so bad, but it got less terrible once she learned that the speed limit is not some magic barrier preventing the car from going faster than what is posted. We met my cousin and his wife (the one that got married in Alaska) and grandma at the Olive Garden. I consumed a lot of breadsticks and the waiter kept calling me "junior" for some reason. I have no idea why, I was taller, bigger, and had more facial hair from him. It was really strange.

Wednesday:
We left around noon and had a rather quick drive to Sunriver. I got to go really fast as it was a two lane road with nobody really slowing me down and no cops on the way. My cousin was driving grandma's new Camaro, so he got to go pretty fast as well, which I'm sure he enjoyed. The continuing joke was that we brought way too much food and my uncle and I had a pretty funny text conversation that I will include tomorrow in my quote post. For some reason, grandma picked up pizzas before we left so they had time to get messed up in the car since we didn't keep them refrigerated. When we got there, the oven was broken (turns out the oven breaks whenever someone self cleans it, but the owners continuously neglect to replace the oven). Remembering that I learned once we could barbecue pizzas from Papa Murphy's, I suggested that. It turned out terrible. The first one actually caught fire. We burnt the crust black on 3 pizzas, including the pepperoni one. One of them had the toppings scraped off and made into a kind of soup. With the pepperoni, we scraped off some toppings and put them on toast. It was actually pretty good. My cousin and I were disappointed though because it turned out grandma did not actually buy 2 pepperoni pizzas as she said she did, so we had ruined the only one. After that, we all just went to bed since it was late.

Thursday:
The oven guy came at 7:30am to fix the oven which was really cool. After that, I took a walk with mom and dad and later met up with my uncle and aunt who had gotten lost. I was glad to get some exercise in because I knew the rest of my day would be spent watching football then eating. We watched the first 2 games, but then in the lack of the nfl network, we had to resort to college football instead of the Giants vs. Broncos. The dinner was really good and we only used one of the turkeys that was brought (I don't know who thought 11 people could eat 2 turkeys and a ham (but as I said, the running joke was that we had way too much food)). After dinner, we decided to play Apples to Apples for some reason. My cousin's wife and I did terrible because as we decided "We're too cerebral for these people." After all of that, I went to bed after playing some Episode 1 Podracer on the N64 downstairs against dad. One of the controllers had a bad analog stick (mine) and dad's screen was missing the bottom portion due to a fucked up aspect ratio or something, so we both did pretty poorly and it evened the playing field some which was cool.

Friday:
It was the turkey trot day, a 3 mile run or walk. Considering the St. Patrick's day dash is about 3.5 miles, this one felt really short. I hope that this means I'm getting better at running even though I still took about half an hour on this one. Maybe it was also because due to the big openness of the area, I could see the entire course at all points on the race. After that, those 5 of us that did it (my cousin and his wife, my uncle, my dad, and I) came back and were going to go on a brewery tour later, but my uncle decided to stay. While the girls were out black friday shopping, we left for the tour. It was cool and much more informative about the beer making process than any other brewery tour I have been on (I've been on a lot in case you were wondering).

On our way back, the GPS in the car led us slightly off track and we got to talking about how we really wished we hadn't ruined the only pepperoni pizza we had. My cousin said "Ok that's it, if we see a Papa Murphy's we're stopping." No sooner did he finish that sentence than a Papa Murphy's appeared on the left side of the road. We stopped and went in and three angels made our pizza for us. They were actually pretty cute, but since they lived in Oregon and 8 hours from my house, I didn't get too flirty with them, but we all did stick around for a few extra minutes talking about nothing since it was obviously a slow day for them (everyone else must have been having leftovers, but not us because WE HAD PEPPERONI PIZZA SUCKAS!!!1). On the way back to the house, we debated whether to come in triumphantly carrying the pizza which would anger the people complaining that we were not eating all the food or whether to hide it. We decided since my grandma felt bad about forgetting the 2nd pepperoni pizza, we would sneak it in and put it at the bottom of the fridge. Soon enough, the girls came back from shopping and had bought us darts (there was a dartboard in the garage) so we started playing.

We played Cricket which is a cool darts game that we spent a lot of time doing. I learned I'm actually not bad at darts, which surprised me because I always thought it looked so hard. After about an hour of playing, my cousin came down and she told us they found a second pepperoni pizza. We all looked at each other pretending to be surprised, secretly happy the plan had worked. It was great pizza since we had gotten the oven fixed.

Saturday:
We decided it was time to get some sledding in, so we headed up to Mount Bachelor where we sledded last year. This year, there had been a lot of snow, so they weren't allowing sledding there and the kicked us off to some state park that's specialized for sledding. Dad got mad because he figured it would be some bunny hill, but he was wrong. It was actually a very crowded hill on the shady side of a mountain which meant it was still coated with ice, so the sledding was fast and dangerous. There was a good run on the side where you could get some good air. I sustained some good injuries from my wipeouts there which resulted in the crowd watching going "Ooh!" Falling off that sled and rolling on the snow/ice was like rolling along on pavement. It hurt. I cut up both my knees, scraped my right forearm bad and then did it on the next run, making it actually hurt. I also bruised my ass, left chest, neck and burned off some skin on my side. All in all, a fun day! After getting hurt like I did, for some reason I had the urge to go play some football. The more I thought about it, that actually seems like it would be really cool so who knows, maybe I'll make up for not joining the football team at shorewood my senior year (which I still kind of regret) and I'll go out for the football team at the UW if I get more in shape.

We left the sledding hill and I put some rubbing alcohol on my cuts, then drove home while letting the alcohol sink in for no reason other than to be manly I guess. I put on some neosporin when we got back though because that stuff is amazing. That night, we had Thanksgiving 2: Room for Dessert (our action thriller coming to a theater near you). It consisted of the other turkey and my uncle's special roast that Kathryn and I prepared. Basically, you take a roast, coat it in black pepper and garlic salt and then slow cook it on the barbecue. I know Orion doesn't like beef, but someday maybe I'll get the chance to cook it for you guys, it's pretty good. After dinner, more darts ensued.

Sunday:
We spent all but half an hour of the time between 10:00am and 6:00pm in the car, a very busy driving day. After I got home, I was freaking out about the project due the next day in French, but then I learned class was cancelled and I had an extra day. Now I have had time to email the guys in the group and figure out what we're doing (which I guess they had some time to figure out in my absence on Wednesday).

Today:
In jazz band, I got to try the section leader's black trumpet. It was pretty cool and tricky to play, but it was a really nice horn. I can't wait until winter break when I go trumpet hunting.

Ok well I'll make a quote post tomorrow. This post was really long and it's now taken me about 2 hours to write because I was doing some other things as well such as emailing my group back and forth about what was going on. Until later, peace out.

Whoa it's-a Monday, time-a for an up-a-date!

I think I'll give credit for that title to Mario. I was playing it a little this weekend for some reason. This last week was good because I finally figured out that I don't need to show up to psych every day and also since I got some good gaming (by myself unforunately) in. I leave tomorrow for Sunriver again, so that is unfortunate because I will once again not get to hang out with Davis during break, but then again, he returns in a couple of weeks anyway so it will work out. Someday also maybe Davis and Steven will be up for vanquishing again. I tried some discordway and it worked fairly well except for groups with multiple healers, but whatever. I'll just get going on the week now.

Monday:
I got the form from Ken in band and it looks like more than 5 people also took it (he can suggest a limit of 5). I don't want to get too cocky, but I think my chances of being in the top 5 are good [knock on wood there] and I really hope that either just I wind up going or just me and the girl and then epic threesome happens because as Orion put it, "you would be perma winner of everything." Enough about that though. The combination of my new mouthpiece (specialized for lower parts and stuff like that) and the high horn parts I'm playing (the guys in the section decided they wanted me to do all first parts this year) that band for the 2 hours straight we practice really kills my chops, but it's a good workout I suppose.

Tuesday:
I skipped psych because it was a lecture day. In French, we had a group workday and our group is doing a project on food, so we brought a lot of food. I tried a baby pickle and it was really sour and terrible (especially since I ate it in one bite) and even Foie Gras! I can see why people get it confused with cat food. There was other weird stuff there that we had all brought, but I won't go into detail with it because it is not very exciting. The cheese was good, but me and the pretty Dutch girl that sits in front of me agreed that Dutch cheese was far superior. After school, I did a lot of homework after first getting a much needed haircut. If it gets that long again, I might need to start tying it back.

Wednesday:
I skipped psych again because I knew there was again no real point to showing up. In French, we did not have a workday again, so no great feast, but when I got home, I didn't have much homework so I got some good skill hunting in. I actually heard from Steven for the first time that week during the hunting.

Thursday:
There was a psych test which I think I did adequately on. After that, there was no French (of course it had to be the day I had to show up for psych...). Fortunately, the room was left open so I was able to sit in it while I did my homework. More skill capping after school ensued.

Friday:
I had to show up to psych again to turn in my optional homework because I want to water down my test grades as much as I can, just in case. In French, we didn't get a lot done because we spent the whole class correcting homework. In Jazz Band, our lead saxophone player showed up to watch us play which was cool because I hadn't seen him since last year. After class, the lead trumpet player and I talked about my trumpet situation. I'm currently looking for a less basic beginner model. Also, recently I noticed that I've been buzzing when I use first valve and sustain a note. Since it started happening shortly after my new horn mouthpiece came, I figured I screwed up my embouchure somehow, but the guy thinks that perhaps my trumpet has a hole in it because he knew a guy with a similar problem. Well I kind of hope it's the hole actually because that will get me off my ass and looking at trumpets more. He's bringing in 2 this week for me to try out, so that's really nice of him. I tried one today and it was an Old Olds (Too Old). I thought it was okay, but I wonder what he's going to have me try tomorrow. Hopefully it helps me get an idea of what I want so I can shop around during winter break. After school, I came home and did homework, then got down to 5 elite skills.

Saturday:
Having 5 skills left to cap, I did that and then enjoyed my 2 new titles (elonian skill hunter and legendary skill hunter). I'm at 14 titles now. After that, I played some Fable until I beat that, then I was going to replay Assassin's Creed, but I remembered my cousin still has it, so I decided to play The Force Unleashed instead. So recently, we've been cleaning out the downstairs, leaving us a mess on the ground. We moved that big brown bookshelf in the back of the basement tv room into my computer room, so there was a mess all over the floor, which was nice because it prevented Kathryn and her friend from comandeering the downstairs at 10:00 and kicking me off the computer which is very inconvenient. Also, while we were cleaning, I decided that I have a lot of old xbox games that I have played through so many times I will most likely not do so again. I finally started using Goozex. I've already sent 2 games out (well I'm putting them in the mail today, the post office was closed until today). I think it will turn out to be pretty good for me and it will definitely save me money on newer games. I think I might get M:UA2 by this method.

Sunday:
I did some micro homework, then went to my aunt's house to move stuff to my grandpa's storage at his place. We then took him to dinner, then I brought him back and Kathryn and Dad headed home.

Today:
I skipped psych to do micro homework because I won't get time to do it tomorrow. In Jazz Band, I got to try the trumpet the guy brought in and it was okay. Doug set us up backwards for some reason and I played badly because I was so confused by that the whole time. Now I've got more homework to do, then band later tonight, then school then I leave tomorrow. I hope everyone that got to go to the Spike and The Impalers/ZZ Top concert tonight enjoys it, I wish I could go. I also will miss getting to actually watch the Texans play tonight, but that's the cost of possibly getting to go visit Rachel I suppose. I hope the Texans game is really boring and uneventful, but only because I don't want Orion and Eric to get a lot of fantasy points off the game because I really need to start pulling out some wins since I'm so far behind.

I probably won't have internet this weekend, but if I do, I'll maybe get online and talk. I won't be able to play any videogames. Ok well peace out until next week.

On Fantasy Football:
Me:damn at least the seahawks are winning
but still i would rather be getting fantasy points here
O: i like how eric didnt even try and get another defense for this week
Me: yeah haha
im glad for that
it might close the field a bit
if i can make up the 50 point gap i currently have going
i dont think he was busy even
i mean his classes are monday and wednesday only
and he had wednesday off so....
O: yeah haha
oh well im fine with that
Me: same
of course i think chris johnson sure made up for the lack of his defense
35 points damn!
O: seriously
Me: i was wondering how tony romo has 91 yards but less than 1 point
3 sacks
aw nuts arizona touchdown
but not larry
now its 14-7
we gotta score more so that there's buffering room for larry to get some touchdowns
O: haha
the beauty of fantasy football
making you wish for specific and strange outcomes so that you can get hella points but still have your favorite team win
Me: haha
Me: YES
larry fitzgerald catches a throw
then a teammate commits a personal foul
so he made a good catch and still a loss of yards!
hooray for the absurd things i hope for!

Why tuba players are cool:
Euphonium Player (dickishly): Well are WE the only one's here with pianissimo?
Tuba Player: Yes.....Yes you are.

Me: a girl in my french class was wearing a shirt today that had four big hearts on it and one was only half full
and under it, it said "Hyrule four play"
Davis: OMFG
GET HER NUMBER
GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEE
Me: you don't want me to do that, trust me
but i thought you would appreciate the shirt
Davis: is she crazy?
Me: i dont think so she's um
she's not very hot
but i told her her shirt was cool
because i knew you would have said something
Davis: well I can work with sane
and not hot
Me: haha
Davis: i can work with that
crazxy
there's no fucking chance in hell
Me: i have to be careful too
you have a much lower threshold for crazy
but it leads to funny stories
like the crazy religious girl
Davis: yeah
I talked to her again today
she is so hot
Me: she isn't your new cleric is she?
Davis: no
that would be awesome though
Pretty sure she wouldn't choose evil
actually I think she might play
i was talking about starting an honors group with some of the guys
it would be sweet
Me: idk
she wouldn't dig the whole false idols thing
i can see the conversation now
"which deity do you support here"
"uh, can i just go with god?"
"no"
"but-"
"no"
Davis: actually I would definitely let her go with God
if it was the difference bewteen playing and no playing
yes I don't give a shit
God is fine with me
Me: : O
Davis: all the "spells" can be like, "Extra Bread IV and shit like that
Me: hahaha
Davis: "King of the Jews"
you assume the aspect of Jesus for 2d4 rounds
Me: "everlasting oil" lamps last 50% longer or until more oil arrives
meh i liked yours better
what's jesus' hp?
Davis: umm
he has 999 hit dice
and they're d20s
999 AC
Me: haha
Davis:as a melee touch attack, he can convert any evil or neutral creature to Christinaity
Me: haha
so jesus is basically a really roxorz paladin?
Davis: yeah
Me: he must also have high alchemy skill too
he can turn water into wine and stuff
and when the effect ends and jesus leaves, he splits up into nice little wafers and wine that feeds your party for several thousand years once every week
Davis: yeah
lolol
also he can cast True Ressurection at first level
except that he starts play at 40th level
he saves at a +1000 bonus
Me: haha
Davis: yeah good stuff
I need to do homework now
we can finish this later
Me: i'll have to add this to my quotes post tomorrow too
Davis: we'll have to make a sheet for him
Me: indeed

lastredcoat: so i herd u like mudkipz
Me: huh?
lastredcoat: : 0
Me: oh
well
i mean totally
i would totally have sex with one
lastredcoat: ahahahaha
wait here...
ill brb
Me: haha
lastredcoat: http://media.ebaumsworld.com/picture/emericaskates/mudkip-1.png
Me: i am taking my pants off and having sex with this mudkipz
lastredcoat: there is more mudkip porn on the internet than you can possible imagine
i will resist sending you more
but that isnt the hottest
Me: DO IT
MOAR I SA
lastredcoat: so i herd u like mudkipzzzz http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp128/sedlor/mudkips.jpg
Me: hey
lastredcoat: http://rim.criminalflowers.com/nate/mudkip/37014%20-%20cosplay%20Mudkip%20Pokemon.jpg
Me: she didn't paint her ears
that girl is strange
lastredcoat: lol
dont call davis's future girlfriend strange!
Me: haha
that would be funny if davis goes out with her
cuz we could brag about how we've already seen her naked
lastredcoat: but he could brag that his penis ahs been inside her : (
and that he makes her dress up like pokemon for it
Me: haha
you know i think that would have a limit to how many times it would still be cool for
after like 3 years it would be "guys she won't stop dressing as mudkip when we have sex" "i'm beginning to think ill never see her really naked"
lastredcoat: although he can still see the ears
Me: psh
you can see someone's ears when they're fully clothed
lastredcoat: you dont read enough
ears are the most like vagina of any part of a female body that isnt the vagina
Me: hm
picturing a diagram of an ear in my head, i guess that makes sense
lastredcoat: layers and layers of skin
Me: its like it in terms of structure right, not size obviously?
ITS LIKE VAGUNIOR?
copyright^^
ear infections are now called vagunior infections
lastredcoat: ewww

I have made a mistake

Which I will get to later! First I must go through the week. Last week was pretty good, but the weekend went by really fast which is too bad. Hopefully this coming weekend shall be a bit slower. I did enjoy the pwnage football day yesterday though specifically the Colts last minute stomping of the Patriots (I just like seeing Belichick and Brady fail). In other news (a shoutout to Orion here), this weekend, my grandpa's place was having an outing to go up to Chuckanut Drive which we drove by on our way to and from the Bioshock event this past August. Ok now that the shoutout has been completed, I shall commence talking about the week.

Monday:
In band, Ken told us that this honor band thing was definitely on (school pays for travel, accommodations, and food!). How it works is it's a community college type thing for community colleges in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah (possibly Arizona too). Anyway, the turnout must be really low for this because each conductor gets 5 selections. There are set spots for each instrument in the band (they will take X number of trumpets, X number of flutes, etc.) Anyway, I'm pretty sure that when I sign up, I will be first on Ken's list because he told me he really thought I should do it. So provided that works out (I sign up tonight), I will get to go see Rachel. Now the problem is other people in the band (ones that might want to hang out/tag along with me while there) showed interest in this as well so I can only hope that their instruments are not needed or that Ken does not come up with some picking strategy to ensure they also attend while still making sure I do. I also made the foolish mistake of blurting it out in conversation with the girl that stands next to me today. I was just making light conversation and I inadvertently piqued her curiosity and now she wants to do that. She's cool and all, but this trip was about going to see Rachel, so to be slightly mean here, I hope she doesn't make it (otherwise it will be awkward for me to hang out with both her and Rachel at the same time (hmm, actually this has really awesome potential now that I think about it)). Anyway, more on that to come next week.

Tuesday:
I was super psyched (coincidently, I skipped psych) for the midweekend. I only showed up to my second two classes and they were rather uneventful. In Jazz Band, we did some strange sectionals and our section + Darren (he had nobody else in his section that day and he had similar parts to us) got to go to the dungeon (a cool room downstairs that is not well soundproofed and thus makes the teachers down there angry (but it's not our fault, it's the music building, stop teaching a speech class there!)). After that, I came home and finished the Terran Theme. There's still a part I want to tweak though when I get the time. Also, I need to find a program that records audio and video. I have one now but I don't know if it works right because I don't know how to use it.

Wednesday:
I got up at 9 to go to a Boy Scout thing at 10. I promised Red I would because I was intrigued at the thought of a Boy Scout event starting after 7 or 8 am. It was a dedication of a memorial at the UW, so I got to march in a parade. I was even on the 10:00 news that night walking by the camera. It was pretty lame and it took so long that dad and I just bailed early. After that, I spent the rest of the afternoon just doing homework.

Thursday:
I made the mistake of coming to psych and being there alone. It was a really boring day after that. In Jazz Band, since the girl that stands next to me was gone (someday I'll actually start referring to her by her real name), the four of us guys pwned up some songs. Doug liked how we were sounding and in typical trumpet section fashion, we attributed it to her absence. That's the reason I like to show up every day, haha.

Friday:
I met my grandpa at Costco for lunch, then I took him back to my aunt's house so that he could sit and see the cats (all your base are belong to us!) while I moved some boxes in from the pod containing mostly books. After that was done, I took grandpa back to his place then went over to the mall to meet Sai. We got Arceus together so that we wouldn't be really awkward/pedophiley looking. Unforunately some bearded guy was working the gaming section, not that mythical 919 with the glasses. I'm starting to wonder if she's just a figment of my imagination, though I don't have reason to believe she doesn't exist because that was the first time I had been to Toys R Us since I had seen her. After that, Sai decided to come back here so we could take my Micro exam together since I already knew all the answers and for some reason we thought it would be entertaining. After that, we played some Contra, then he had to head back home.

Saturday:
Kathryn and I took the train to my grandma's house down in Vancouver. She had bought a new Camaro and no longer needed her old Monte Carlo, so she was giving it to us since the Breeze is slowly dying and mom will need a car. Anyway, the train ride was uneventful. She let me drive the Camaro and it was pretty awesome. Not Mustang awesome, but general muscle/sports car awesome. We went to see the men who stare at goats. It was pretty good, but I can see why it got panned.

Sunday:
We drove back from there and I made pretty good time since I was in a relatively fast car and since it was rainy and the middle of the month meaning there were very few cops out on patrol. After we got back, I had football on while I did homework and I enjoyed watching Bill Belicheat and Shady Brady fail.

Monday:
I came to psych alone again which was unfortunate, but less so than Thursday because I had to turn in something anyway. After that, it was a group project workday in French. Well we thought it was at least, she changed her mind so all the food we brought had to just sit there for the class. Then in Jazz Band I accidentally spilled the beans about the honor band thing. If she winds up going, I am really going to hope for an epic threesome. If not, oh well, I don't feel bad about ditching Eric and Darren for Rachel. Quote post tomorrow and then until next week, peace out.

This week was busier so hopefully the post will be more interesting

Well this week was certainly more eventful than the past couple of weeks have been. Perhaps I shall actually have a post this time that deserves some comments. I'll also be making a quote post tomorrow, so check that out too I guess.

Monday:
We had band and it was our last regular rehearsal before the concert, so we were wrapping things up. I finally got to try out my new mouthpiece and it was really good for most of the songs, but there were some screechy high parts that it didn't help on so I used my older one for those during the practice and during the concert as well.

Tuesday:
After school got out, Steven, Chris, and I decided to go look for Sai. Eventually, he and Danny McCoy snuck up and ninjaed us. It was cool to see Danny again and it was cool that we didn't have to awkwardly exclude him because he left on his own. After that, Sai and I picked up some cake supplies and went home to make the cake. See the post below for quotes and things about it. During the cake baking process, we played some Halo and some Left for Dead 2 demo. I liked it, but I still think that there's no way I'll buy the game for the price they want because I would only play the campaign anyway. Around 6, Ahmad, Ben, and Ashley came by and Stashley formed and left. Then Sai helped Ahmad and Ben on programming homework for an hour or so then they left after Sai got an email from his brother saying he should probably call home (he must have been in trouble for staying out so late without warning).

Wednesday:
We had the second day of our movie in French. It was actually a really good movie. The teacher even decided to postpone our test back yet another day from now Thursday and Friday to Friday and Monday. After school, I did some quick studying, then I had to go to frisbee. Fortunately since I was busy, only 2 people showed up so we had a quick throwing practice then just called it a day since 2 people don't really make for a good practice. I studied a bit more, then had to go off to SCC at 5:00 because I promised to help the drums load and move their equipment.

I met Kezia and Dan and a couple of other people there. Ken took us all out for Taco Bell since we were all feeling like it and he even paid for it which was really nice of him. After we got back, we loaded the truck. Dan decided to carpool there with me since I had to come back by SCC anyway. On our way out, one of the other drummers was backing out of his space and accidentally came way too far. He wound up being the first victim of the army hitch. On one hand, he didn't deserve it because he's cool and he's a pretty nice guy, but on the other hand, damn the army hitch really pwned his bumper. The dent was a lot bigger than I thought it would have been. Anyway, that was rather funny and Dan and I laughed about it all the way to the concert hall. The dress rehearsal went well and then I came home to study a bit more before going to bed.

Thursday:
We had our psych test. Each psych test, I always study one thing more than I should and it never comes up. This time, it actually did. I was quite happy. I wound up doing the exact same as I did on my first test though, so whomp whomp. I got my first assignment back and I thought I got 2 points for turning it in early, but it was only 1 so I'm debating whether to do that with the next one. It's due next Monday, so I might want to get started on it here soon if I plan to. In French, we finished up the movie, but I had to leave early to set up for the jazz band concert in the pub. We sounded as good as you can for performing in what is essentially just a giant cube. It sounded like hell, but we kind of made it work. That night, we had the concert. It went pretty well because I was able to hang out with the girl trumpeter that I stand next to in jazz band for a while and then Dan right before we went to set up. The concert went well and I got home to study for some French. Then I realized that I had forgotten to do the homework for the next day, so I stayed up later than I usually like to to finish it. Also during that time Darren messaged me on facebook to ask if the girl I stand next to in jazz band was single. I presume he wants to ask her out which sucks because I was thinking about doing it (though admittedly I was far off of it because I don't want her to say no then we still have to stand next to each other every day). Anyway they haven't been in the same room since that point, but I'm curious to see him try because I think he'll get rejected, but I want to see someone else's style of picking up chicks. Who knows, it could be a good learning experience.

Friday:
I got up a bit early to meet with my Econ professor about switching to an AA degree for Economics instead of what I'm currently going for which is business. I wound up waiting about half an hour, but I got to see my math professor from last year, which was cool. She told me some stories about her playing french horn beause she didn't know I had played it and she saw me holding it. Eventually, I got invited in and there were some students in there asking n00b questions and since the professor said I was one of his best students, I figured I was qualified to help one of the students there that was having problems. It was nice to get to show off that I'm learning in front of the teacher and I was able to put what the lady was asking in plain terms.

After they left, we checked out the track I'm on and it looks good. I now don't have to take accounting which is a HUGE BONUS. We both agreed how we hated how tedious accounting was. I think I'll enjoy being an accounting major provided I can get into the UW. It's looking good now though, so hopefully it works out. The meeting made me miss psych, but I snuck in at the end to figure out how I did on the test. I then went to French and IT WAS CANCELLED. I stayed up late for nothing. I didn't have it so bad though. The guy that sits next to me said he missed his bus and then caught a later one and sprinted from the stop to get to the class just in time for our scheduled test time and then he saw the sign and just collapsed on the door in frustration. I spent the next hour just doing not much until jazz band started. We got a cool new song and there was an old almuni trumpet player there. I guess he left SCC to go to North Texas University and got in the 1st jazz band (REALLY big deal). He stuck around to play with us and helped us get better on a couple of our songs which was really awesome. The girl was gone so she missed out on it, but meh, her loss.

After school, I was happy to be done with work for the week. I finished up all of my weekend homework, then played some left for dead 2 demo with Steven, Davis, and Sai. After that, I watched some of V (the series premiere first, then the movie from the '80s after that) and then went to bed.

Saturday:
I started playing Fable. It's really fun. After that, we met grandpa at Costco for lunch, then we took him back here to watch the last half of the husky game, then we took him home. That night, I watched more V.

Sunday:
Not having much homework left, I played some Fable then did it quickly. I then spent the rest of the afternoon working on the Terran Theme after football ended for the Seahawks. I spent a lot of time on the terran theme and it's coming along nicely.

Today:
We had our tests today in French. While asking the teacher to repeat a question, I accidentally said por favor instead of si'l-vous plait. In my defense though, I said por favor with a flawless french accent. Luckily we weren't being graded on asking to repeat a question, so no problem with that. Jazz band went well and then I came home and Steven and I watched Stargate. Now I don't have much homework so I'm going to go ahead and get back to the terran theme.

Until tomorrow, then until next week, peace out.

Ahmad's Pyramid Cake

Sai and Steven and I made Ahmad a pyramid cake today. In case you're wondering, it tasted a lot better than the pyramid volcano double layer ice cream poptart cake since we remembered to beat the batter this time. Here were some quotes from Ahmad when we showed him the cake and then some more that occurred later on.

*Upon showing him the cake*
Ahmad: It’s funny because I’m from Egypt and they have pyramids there.

Me: Should we ceranwrap the cake or should we leave it open?
Sai: We can probably just leave it open.
Me: Ok, I just wasn’t sure about it’s structural integrity
Ahmad: Oh, I’M sure about it’s structural integrity.

Ahmad: I’m sure my mom will enjoy this with every bite, taking her back to her days of playing in sand and climbing pyramids.

Ahmad: Well thank you for reuniting me with my heritage.

I'm calling it now, Texans and Saints in the Superbowl

If I'm right, I'll look really smart now come January. Anyway, how's about I get going on last week. It was Halloween week for Guild Wars, so not much happened outside of doing things for that. I'll just hop right into the post now since I don't have anything interesting to say for the intro.

Monday:
I'm overlapping a bit since my post was done late, but Steven and I did some discordway and found it is a very effective way of vanquishing. Of course, when we vanquish with Davis, we'll most likely do the more challenging method that we regularly use. Discordway is awesome though because it is designed to pretty much rape everything really quickly so our only problem is figuring out where we've been in an area.

Tuesday:
I tried to do as much homework as I could, then Steven and I ran some more discordway. We got a couple more areas done rather quickly. After a while, Ashley came to his house and then our vanquishing stopped soon thereafter. It was no matter to me though as I spent the rest of the afternoon farming ToT bags and watching TV.

Wednesday:
We had a sectional day in Jazz Band and the trumpets got a special sectional with Doug. I was able to get the high notes in my part though luckily because I didn't want to have to give the part up because it would be inconvenient for whoever got it. After school, I did more ToT farming and some homework.

Thursday:
I woke up and had a really strong feeling that I would regret showing up to Psychology. I decided it was probably just because I was figuring out all we do is take notes. Steven and I arrived at the class only to discover it had been cancelled for the day. D'oh. Steven went to the library to print something, then we both went back to his house so he could show me a successful chaos plains run. After that, I headed back to SCC for Jazz Band.

Friday:
My French professor emailed the class the night before telling us that class was cancelled. I planned on skipping psych then so I wouldn't have an hour break, but Steven reminded me an optional assignment was due, so I showed up. After that, he and Ben(Tim), and I went to the library and Tim went somewhere and Steven and I did some studying for some classes. After that, we had our recording day in Jazz Band with a pretty weak turnout, so we just wound up rehearsing mostly. After Jazz Band, I came home and packed and we left to pick up Kathryn at school and then we picked up dad, then we headed down to Vancouver for the concert that the three of them plus one of Kathryn's friends were going to. We met my grandma at our favorite restaurant there, then they went to the concert. Grandma and I went back to her house and watched Watchmen and then I watched Stargate after that.

Saturday:
We had to get an early start to get home on time since Kathryn's friend had to set up for the carnival at Syre. We got home in fairly good time, but not a record for me though I was going fast the whole way. I spent the rest of the day doing some farming of ToT bags.

Sunday:
We met grandpa for lunch and the end of the Seahawks game. After that, we went over to my aunt's house to move some furniture around as well as take some garbage out. My uncle took a lot of stuff for my cousins which was good because we are really needing to clear out space. After that, I came back and did some French homework.

Today:
I remembered we had a psych test, but it got moved back a day, which was nice. Then, our French professor decided to move our test back to Friday instead of tomorrow, so I'm a pretty happy camper right now. I have band 3 times this week, which will kind of suck, but it won't rob me of too much time, so it should be fine. Sai's coming tomorrow, so that's also going to be cool. Now I'm going to try to finish as much of my homework as I can before band so I have more time to study/do nothing during the week.
